Alaskan Coastal Black Bear

Bill Rivas, VP of Operations, National Sales Rep, Writer and Co-Host of Northwest Hunter harvest a Fall Coastal Black Bear with Alaskan Adventure Tours, Inc. Bill is an avid hunter, true sportsman and has been a real pleasure to hunt with.

The Remote Alaskan Southern Gulf Coast enjoys the reputation of having some of the largest Coastal Black Bears in the World.  Unlike inland bears, the Alaska Coastal Black Bear has an incredibly high protein diet.

Gorging on the summer salmon runs each year allows the Alaska Coastal Black Bear to grow larger and have a much denser coat than inland bears.

Vessel based hunting provides an extremely high opportunity rate.  Hunting from a 110’ vessel base camp has its advantages and rewards. We will cruise the coastline to and from the day hunt drop-off point looking for bears near the beach in one of our auxiliary vessels. Each day of the hunt you will be dropped off in the field where the bears are prevalent with your guide for a day hunt.

Unlike being dropped off at a lodge, base camp or tent, we are not confined to the same area each day. It would take six months or more to cover the area from a camp that can be covered by a vessel based hunt with the assistance of four wheelers in 7-days.

Alaskan Adventure Tours takes a six-person maximum on this 2x1 Guided Hunt. The guided black bear hunts will be under the supervision of Registered Guide Darren Byler License #1151. We will take you to where the bears are. Generally they are not more than 1 mile from the beach. We will transport you to the beach with a high-speed 35' aluminum catamaran or another comparable skiff.

The Alaskan Leader will be anchored up in a calm, protected bay at all times. Groups and singles are welcome. Accommodations for couples are available with private staterooms.

The trip includes lodging aboard the 110' Motor Vessel Alaskan Leader and all meals. You need only to bring: personal gear, rifle, ammunition, hunting license and bear tag.
