Alaskan
Adventure Tours, Inc. offers a first-class vessel based
Caribou Hunt in the remote region of Alaska’s
Aleutian Islands. This will be a seven-day, seven-night vessel
based hunt aboard the spectacular 100-foot Ex-Bering Sea King
Crab Vessel the North Pacific.
The North Pacific will be the mother-ship and base camp for
the duration of the hunt. The North Pacific will be anchored
up in a protected, calm bay at all times with location depending
on weather conditions. We will transport you to different locations
upon reasonable requests in our high speed transport vessel
the M/V Speed of Sound which is a 25 foot off Shore Mako with
twin 250hp Yamahas. |
|

You will be in pursuit of a
large Caribou Herd numbering approximately 2,500 animals. In
this herd there is good opportunity to harvest large trophy
class bulls. We hunt Adak Caribou during the month of September.
You will have the opportunity to harvest One Caribou. After
harvesting your Caribou, you will have the option to harvest
an additional Caribou for a trophy fee of $1,000.00 plus State
of Alaska tag fee. Adak Island Caribou enjoy the reputation
of producing some of the largest caribou in the entire world
and it is a high possibility that the next World Record Caribou
will come off the Island of Adak.
 |
|
You will be hunting on the remote
Aleutian Island of Adak. You can fly to Adak on Alaska Airlines
directly from Anchorage, Alaska.
We will pick you up at the
Adak Airport and transport you to the dock where the M/V
North Pacific will be waiting. The boat will then travel to
the protected remote bays of Adak Island. |
|

The large Caribou population on Adak Island is virtually
untouched by other hunters. There are one or two tent camp
operations in the area but they are not mobile like our vessel
based operation is.
To
be a successful and safe vessel based operation in such
a remote area as Adak it takes a serious piece of equipment
such as an Ex Bering Sea Crab Boat to safely and effectively
navigate the perimeter of the Island while staying one
step ahead of the herd at all times. This cannot be effectively
achieved by tent camps. |
 |
Vessel
based hunting provides a much higher opportunity rate
to harvest an animal compared to being dropped off at
a tent camp. Depending on weather we will cover many miles
of coastline each day to optimize the best chance of harvest
success.
This
will be a transported hunt only. You will return each
evening to the North Pacific where you will enjoy the
comfort of a hot shower, first-class meal service and
a warm heated bunkroom and/or private staterooms based
upon availability. |
 |
The
only difference between the guided and unguided is that
the unguided trip you will be skinning your own animal and
packing it out.
As
you know Caribou is nothing more than a large deer and
most of our clients are choosing to go the unguided route
and save themselves thousands of dollars for the hunt. |
