Sitka Blacktail Deer

Pat Boyer, Executive Producer and Co-Host of Northwest Hunter harvests a beautiful
Sitka Blacktail Deer Trophy with Alaskan Adventure Tours, Inc.

Alaskan Adventure Tours Hunts the Sitka Blacktail Deer off the islands of the inside, protected waters of Prince William Sound and Kodiak Island. The hunts start November 1st and run thru December. The weeks of November and December offer the highest success rate for Sitka Blacktail Deer hunting. This time of year the snow level is close to the beach, which brings the deer down. The Sitka Blacktail Deer come into rut around Thanksgiving of each year.

The inside waters of Prince William Sound maintain the largest numbers of Sitka Blacktail Deer in the State of Alaska. The densest populations of deer thrive on the islands of Hinchinbrook, Montague, Naked, Green and Knight. Alaskan Adventure Tours will anchor up in the heart of great Sitka Blacktail country. Out of respect to the local Cordovan Hunters, Alaskan Adventure Tours does not operate commercial deer hunting on Hawkins Island since it is so close to the Port of Cordova.

The Sitka Blacktail Deer is a specialty deer. It is a sought after trophy, often needed to complete the Grand-Slam of the deer species. There are only a couple of places in North America to find the special Sitka Blacktail Deer and Alaska is one of them. Like our other hunts, the vessel-based Sitka Blacktail Deer hunting provides an extremely high success rate. Hunting from a vessel base camp has its advantages and rewards. Unlike being dropped off at a lodge, base camp or tent, Alaskan Adventure Tours will visit several different areas during each hunt. It would take six months or more to cover the area from a camp that can be covered by a vessel-based hunt in 7 days.

Alaskan Adventure Tours takes a six-person maximum on each unguided hunt. We will take you where the largest volumes of deer are located. Generally in November of each year the deer are a mile or less from the beach. Groups and Singles are welcome. The trip includes vessel-based lodging and all meals. You need only to bring: personal gear, rifle, ammunition, hunting license and deer tags.

Trip Fee:

$2,500.00 p/p 7days/7nights
Non-Resident Hunting License: $85.00
